Brief Description:  GPS Dock and wire lace

Only one day home, I was called out on a 2 day trip but I will be done for the month when I get back. My new dimmer arrived and the installation and test went perfectly. I turned my attention to getting anything done I can on the main panel before it goes into the airplane. I first modified the Air Gizmo dock for the Garmin 496 GPS. It was recommended to me that it have a tilt to make for better viewing. I did not like the tilt with the way the initial installation went so I drilled two new holes at the upper attach points of the dock. This made the angle perfect. I temporarily installed the panel to finalize some wire support ideas and to cut the antenna cables to length. This took a bit of time since I went through several ideas before deciding on one.

I remove the panel and started to organize the ground and power wires and tie them into bundles. When I was looking over the power wires for the Garmin 430W I realized that when the guy that built my wire harness put this together he used too small a wire. It calls for 18 AWG and a 10 amp breaker and he used 20 AWG by mistake. I have since confirmed this with him and expect two new wires any day in the mail. I had to get him to do them up since I do not own a crimper for the pin used. Minor setback but all should be good. I do however plan to map out all of the pin connections and check the continuity of each wire, this will take some time.
