Brief Description:  Fit windscreen to roll bar

I did the final fitting of the windscreen. I wanted this done so I can put it away until it is time to install the top skin for good and do the fiberglass bezel around the edges. My fit was off since I re-cut the canopy side of things, I had to trim a little off the windscreen side. The space between the windscreen and the canopy section is not consistent at all but the windscreen edge will be hidden under the fiberglass bezel. I drilled and clecoe along the roll bar in 4 places. I plan to also glue on the windscreen with Sika Flex. I am using draw clecoes. With a compressible spacer and can adjust the tension of the draw clecoes so the shape of the windscreen matches the canopy perfectly. It is nearly perfect as is but I had a couple of spots where one side was slightly higher than the other. I am happy with the results but I know I could do better if I tried this a second time, but the heck with that I want to get flying.

Speaking of flying I rented a Cessna 172 to do a little flying out by the airport I have a hanger rented. After getting the aerial view what I suspected was true, the terrain around the airport will not make it a suitable location for my first flights, just not a lot of options to put down if I run into troubles. I plan to convince one of the guys in the EAA chapter over at the Olympia airport to trade hangers with me until I am through the first 25 hours. So what this means is after the wings are fitted and removed to deburr and dimple the holes for the fairings the final assembly will have to wait until I trailer the plane to Olympia.
