Brief Description:  VHF Antenna doubler

I did not get much work done in the shop. I spent most of the day trying to find out what others have done with their transponder antenna location. It seems to me something must compromise, right now I am leaning towards going with a longer than recommended run of RG400 cable. I think it is more important for the antenna to be the required 3 feet from other antennas and the transponder unit itself. I was happy with the location of the VHF antennas so I match drilled them to the floor. Although they are not 3 feet apart, many have mounted the antennas in this same location and do not have any radio troubles. I will open up the holes for the antenna; drill the rivet holes for -4 rivets. I will have to place an order since I don’t have any AN426 -4 rivet the correct size. I also need to get the alodine pen to corrosion proof the facing areas for the antennas. I normally use primer for corrosion protection but the antenna needs the ground to the metal. The Touch-N-Prep Alodine 1132 pen is a one step corrosion protection system. The pen is expensive but I hear it will last a long time.
