Today I wanted to spray the left gear weld mount. Way back when while I had it removed I pulled some tape off and along with it came two big chunks of the powder coating. The part was obviously not treated properly before getting the powder coating. I need to run wires in this area so I have to get the bare metal primed and painted before I proceed. In hind sight I guess I could have stripped them down and had them re-coated but that seemed like a needless expense.
I took out a few of the fuel line in the way and then sprayed a coat of primer, then took the touch up paint sold by Van’s that matches the color of the powder coat and sprayed that on. The mounts hare hidden under the console so the paint is just for corrosion protection.
There is an area almost as big on the underside as well
