Brief Description: Deburr right elevator spar and ribs
I only worked a couple of hours today, I deburred all of the right side elevator parts and scuffed them all. I have started to scuff them parts before dimpling because the dimples really eat up the scotchbite pads, also it is difficult to scuff the inside of the dimples. I give are the parts a good cleaning in acetone before and after scuffing then once more before I prime the parts. I also manage to squeeze a few dimples in the 703 and 704 ribs. I will have to use an alternate method on the last two holes in the narrow end of the 703.
I received word back from Van’s on my messed up dimple. After looking at the photo they said the fix was fine but to hit the damaged hole with a file to try and smooth it out some. He did mention that my photo being a close up macro shot makes things look really pronounced. But the one hole will be enough of a fix and to build on.
