Brief Description: Fabricated rudder stiffeners a 2nd time
Well I finally feel well enough to try and do some work on the plane. To be honest I have been chomping at the bit to work on the plane. I am in a removable cast, I can do what I want as long at the cast is on, I am only supposed to take it off to do some easy stretches so my joint do not get too stiff.
All I did was today was fabricate the stiffeners and then cleco and drill the holes; there were a few I did not have to fabricate because I still had them from the first try. I quit a few stiffeners into the second side of the rudder. I tried to deburr very lightly; I suspect a contributing factor to my riveting problems is the holes are too large. Time will tell.
I stayed with the plans this time; I will rivet on the stiffeners and then do the rest of the parts. As such when I prime I will only prime the skin over where the stiffeners will be attached. I will try to do more work tomorrow.
