Brief Description:  Finsihed rear spar and riveted front spar

I started off this morning with the last steps for the rear spar which entailed riveting on the hinges. Most of the rear spar is riveted with the shop heads facing aft but the rivets for the hinges I turned around. I learned with the Vertical Stab that the shop heads are tall enough to interfere with the riveting of the skin. With the manufactured head up, it will allow a little more room for riveting. The last step was to bolt on the 411 hinge assembly and torque them down. After tightening the bolts to 25 inch pounds I put some orange torque seal on the nuts. This technique will let me visually confirm what bolts have been tightened to the proper setting.

Next task is the front spar, starting with the reinforcing angles, then the 404 and the 405 ribs are riveted to the front spar. I then began the riveting of the skin with the 707 rib. The instructions have you rivet the rib first then you attach the rest of the skeleton to the skin. These nose rib rivets are a bit of a pain to get to but not too bad. I will continue the riveting tomorrow.
