I continued work today on the tail fiberglass tips. I called Van’s and a rivet into the rudder brace where I need it will be fine, so I drilled that hole. Then I moved on to the VS tip, this one requires you to fill the opening. I made an insert out of foam and laid a layer of glass. Once this sets the foam comes out and I will add a couple more layers on the inside.
I then fit the elevator tips, these also need the ends filled but they go over the lead counter weights and I need to research a good way to close this end. The plans kind of leave you hanging for all this finish stuff.
