Brief Description:  Canopy fitting

Today was the big day; I started trimming the canopy to fit. I found a propane heater on sale and decided to give it a try, I will be having big power bill this month because I have been using the house heater to heat the garage by opening an access hole in the duct system above the garage. With the house set at 78 the garage gets up to 75 or so. Well with the propane heater going as I worked on the canopy, the garage got up to 79, I kicked off the heater for the last hour or so and it only dropped to 77.

I spent most of the time cutting the flange off of the canopy, I did it by marking line and the cutting a little off each time. The nervous part came with I had to cut the last bit of the flange off, this is when the canopy starts to lose some of its rigidity. But al when well and I set it on the plane and did a couple of cuts, I am nearing the red guide line in the front and wonder if I am doing something wrong, I will have to consult builder support. Maneuvering the canopy alone is not too tough, I can put my hand inside and lift from the center and carry it this way between the plane and the saw horses. More cutting tomorrow, I hope to have the canopy fit and glued by the end of the month!
