Brief Description:  New roll bracket

Wow talk about fast service, I talked to Dynon yesterday morning about my bracket and the new one arrived this morning, UPS Saturday delivery, I really did not mean for them to go to this much trouble but nice!

The new and old brackets are exactly the same, the bushing hole is just off, the attached pictures show more detail. If you measure the center of all of the holes with a sharpie you will see that the Dynon bracket does not have the bell crank bushing hole centered between the spar attach holes. My guess is the play in the bell crank; bushing and bolt make this slight misalignment a non issue since the beta testers have been flying with this same bracket. Getting the new one proved to me that I did not get a bad one the first time, this is just how they come. I am sending Dynon back the new bracket with the drawing of the alignment issue I found; perhaps they will correct it with the future brackets. My guess is if there will be issues it will not appear until there is some wear on the bushing which could take several hundred hours. I plan to make this an inspection item for my annuals, not just lubricate the bell crank but look for uneven wear.

Not only did I measure things by use of the graph paper but I used a sharpie and drew the center lines of all of the holes. On the Van’s bracket the two spar holes are 24/32 from the bushing hole. On the Dynon, one hole is 22/32 and the other is 26/32, the same 1/16” off I saw with the graph paper.

In photo 3 below, I lined up the bushing hole and you can see the (blue) spar attach holes don't line up, I should have lined up the spar holes and then shown how the bushing hole is off.
