Brief Description:  Deburr pitot mount, cut tube on the pitot

We have some friends from out of town today, so I just messed around mostly. I deburred the pitot mount and then clecoed it in place. I then cut down the two 3/16” tubes coming out of the pitot tube. One tube is for the pitot pressure and the other is for the Dynon AOA. I left them long but short enough that I could get the pitot tube inserted into the mast. I need to find a place to mount the pitot controller and I wanted to be able to see the reach I will have with the wires coming out of the pitot tube.

I then mounted the aileron; this is not the final mounting I just want to see the push rods move to see where I might run conduit for the electrical wires that will run to the wings for the lights. Conduit leaves the option to add and remove wire for future upgrades like wing mounted antenna. There are two schools of thought, one is use PVC from Home Depot and devise a bracket to hold a clamp, this will hold the PVC rigid. The other option is to use corrugated tubing sold by Van’s, you cut a ¾” hole in the lower part of each rib just aft of the forward lightening hole. Then the corrugated tube goes into each hole, no clamps required, just a little ATV to prevent movement of the tube. Van’s list this as an option; even though it would seem that a ¾” hole in the rib might weaken it somewhat. I actually like the corrugated idea but my wing skins are all on except one so drilling the holes and deburring them will not be easy, but it has been done. So for me it is weather the drilling a deburring is more time consuming than making brackets for the PVC method. The last thing I did was practice flaring on the scrap of 3/16” tube I cut off of the pitot.
