Brief Description: Riveted right W412/414, drilled aileron for bracke
I started today by removing the right wing bottom skin that I had test fit to see if there would be any issues. I then had to finish up a few rivets on the right side aileron brackets that attach to the wing. It is now time to start the ailerons, since they are quick build I just have to attach some brackets. I drill to size for the AN3 bolts that will attach the bracket to the aileron.
I have highlighted areas in the instructions on things that I want to inspect since I am not doing much of the work on the quick build kit. On item I highlighted is the aileron trailing edge bend. Much like the tail control surfaces you want a straight edge to lay flat right up to the trailing edge bend. Well these ailerons don’t have the best trailing edge bend. I was going to take my hand seam tool to the ends to see if I could sharpen them up but after talking with another builder he thought I should wait. I guess after you start flying there may be some tweaking of the trailing edges to alleviate a heavy wing condition so I am leaving them for now.
