Brief Description:  Cut hole for the step

Today it was time to but the hole in the left faring for the step to pass through. The plans have you cut a paper template of the flap fairing then you play with the hole fit. This worked great, I added one step in the process, and since I had the bad left fairing that I miss drilled, I transferred the hole to it as a double check. This was a good thing since my transfer of the paper to it was off by a bit. I learned from this so when I finally transferred the pattern from the bad fairing to the good one I have a near perfect fit. I still need more of a gap but I want to wait until the step is riveted on before I make the final trim.

I ended the day by drilling all the screw holes in the aft faring and the belly skin for the #8 screws. I then remove the flaps and fairings in preparation to remove the wings. Once I can get some help the wings come off to deburr the holes and install all the nut plates along the wind edge that will hold root fairings and belly skins. Then it will be the final fit with the close tolerance bolts.
