Brief Description:  More work on underside of skirt

Finally back to work on the plane. I have taken some time as a break and I also need to build a tack room in our barn. The tack room project was very rewarding, now back to this project.

I need to finish up the underside of the skirt so that I can prime and paint it. I removed the skirt once again so I could fill some of the low voids in the shim area and also fair the underside some. I used the West Marine 410 filler for this since it sands down nicely.

With that left to dry I decided to remove the backing tape from the sides of the fuselage. Well this turned out to be not so much fun, lots of the glue stayed on the fuselage and I had to use a glue remover the clean it all off, this was very time consuming.

Even with the protection of the tape, I managed to get a drop or two of resin in places which popped off with a little force. I did manage to hit the fuselage when sanding the skirt in places, not a big deal since this will get sanded down and painted over, but I plane to fly the first year with no paint, I am not sure these area will polish out.
