Brief Description:  Part 1: Installed Prop Gov. and Oil Temp Sensor

Well I did not log real shop time yesterday; it was the education part of building. I hooked up the front and rear stick, flap and trim wires with an isolation switch to control the rear stick. I wanted to make sure my idea would work. I want a switch that will disable the rear stick flap and trim buttons. I also wanted to make sure I would not burn anything up if the flap switches on each stick were actuated opposite (one up one down). The motor just stops when this happens. The isolation switch should stop this from happening by accident. Now, onto today’s work……

I needed to get some oil pumped into the engine to help preserve it in while it is just stored in the garage, so that means closing some holes. I had to install the propeller governor and the oil temperature sensor. After doing this I filled the pre-oiler tank up with 4 quarts of oil and pumped it into the engine. It worked fine but I think I need to find a way to get the oil hot when I do this, I don’t think it moved with enough pressure to get any oil spray on the camshaft.

I managed to spill some oil on the right P-Mag. The oil did get past where the electrical wires hook up. Since these things are built for the harsh environment around and engine I hope a little oil will not hurt. I am game to take it apart to clean up any oil inside but I don’t want to do this without the OK from E-Mag Air. I sent them and email and asked if the oil will cause any problems.
