Decided to try something different and make the top of the cowl removeable. It will add some hours, but I like the idea of being able to easily remove the cowling during pre-flight, if necessary. It will also allow me to get rid of the center seam on the top of the cowlling. I've read that a couple of Sonex in New Zealand have done this, but I haven't seen any pictures. The top will attach with Southco's; I'll build up a flange on the lower cowling half.
