Brief Description:  Cowling - rough cuts

Time for the last character builder in the project -- the cowling. I marked and cut out the cooling openings and prop hub. I used a saber saw where I could, and then used a Dremel with a roto-zip type of cutting bit, worked fine.As I got closer to the finished line, I switched to a 1.5" diamond disk on the Dremel. Makes a nice clean cut. For the cut on the firewall, I first put masking tape flush with the forward edge of the side fuselage. Next place the cowling in place, overlapping the tape. Put a second layer of tape on top of the first. Run down the edge of the tape on the cowling with a Sharpie. Remove tape and trim to line....leaving a 1/8" or so extra for final fit. (This will compensate for the bottom layer of tape which does not lie flat due to the rivets.)
