I glassed the top together using 2 layers of cloth. The flange on the cowling sides was built up with 3 layers of cloth, plus 2 extra "patch" layers around where the Southco's will be riveted. I applied smooth packaging tape to the top half where I did not want the flange to stick. It worked well.
