I added Nomex felt to the fuel tank straps. I also made a spacer out of tubing to make the strap nice and snug....I didn't really like the dangling bolt and nut per the plans. On final fitting with the glare shield and upper firewall it became apparent that the tank (as others have noted) is not a precision fit. I had to remove the felt from the top of the tank in order for everything to fit -- in particular the bottom of the fuel filler neck touches the inside of the stainless steel firewall extension. I also needed to trim about 1/4" off of the tank filler neck, as it was too small for the rubber gas stopper. I used a hacksaw and then a block sander to smooth it out. Finally, I washed the tank out with lots of hot water and detergent, and set it out overnight to dry.
