Brief Description:  Beginning fuel tank installation

It took a bit of headscratching to determine what I wanted to do. I initially was going to go the Ace Hardware/NAPA route and use hardware or auto fittings. But I also wanted to use a bulkhead fitting through the firewall. The bulkhead fitting uses 37 degree flares, rather than 45 degree flares, so I figured I might as well use that for everything. I ordered most of my fittings from Summit Racing, and the two barbed elbows from Wicks. Summit also has a great price on a 37 degree flaring tool (under $40).Like everyone else, I had to slim down the width tank straps. They also were too long per plans by about 1/2" in total span of each strap. I added Nomex felt from McMaster to the recommended areas of the tank and straps. Used rubber cement to attach it to the tank. I also remade the rear tank stops using .063 aluminum, as the original ones (.032) seem pretty flimsy. Plus, I had to move them anyway as the plans location under the glare shield is off by about 1/2". Worked out ok as it allowed me to use two rows of rivets.
