I've started making templates for the floorboards out of posterboard. Ideally I would like to have as few seams as possible. The floorboards will have to be removed for the annual condition inspection and I would like to not have to remove the control stick or the rudder pedals. This work is a bit tedious as a lot of consideration is made on how to make these with as few panels as possible and still be able to access the items under the floor if neccessary. I also don't want to have any larger holes than neccessary so that something such as a pencil doesn't fall through into the belly. I've looked at a lot of pictures of other builder floorboards and have gotten ideas from all of them but everyone is doing them differently. That's the beauty in building your own airplane. You can do what suits you best.
