In the last 2 days I have been setting up my first wing spar.
I have placed the first layer of capstrips, front and back of the spar and match drilled the attach plates and clecoed these to the inboard end of the spar.
I used some scraps of capstrip to create spacers to accurately position the capstrips in relation to the centreline. I used a chalkline to mark the centre of the spar webs.
The scrap capstrips also very useful for making templates for rib locations and rivet spacings.
I spent hours scrutinising the plans and marking the spar for rib locations and lightening holes.
