Brief Description:  Landing Gear - Brakes

As best as I can remember the Parking Brake system was an option that I purchased from Progressive Aerodyne, consisting of a valve, some plastic hoses & brass fittings, and a sheathed cable. First I installed the Valve and the Cable Bracket (a left over part from the engine, I believe) on the hull's forward bulkhead. I had no template for positioning as described in the manual so had to eye ball it from the photos.
Then I installed all the male elbow fittings and ran the 1/8" plastic hose up from each main wheel disc brake to a central tee fitting and then forward to the Parking Brake Valve, back to the Brake Master Cylinder and finally to the Remote Reservoir mounted high on the Main Bulkhead.
A hangar mate was good enough to lend me a oiling can, plastic tubing and some Brake Fluid. The MATCO information calls for Mil-H-5606 or equivalent brake fluid. My mate said that the locals use Mobil Univis HVI 13 for its better properties in Powell River's salty air. Checking online revealed it to be at least equivalet to the mill spec so I went with it.
I pumped the fluid up from each of the main gear wheels' Bleed Valves to the tee fitting and then through the system to the Remote Reservoir. To get all the air bubbles out I had to empty the Remote Reservoir once and then pump more fluid through until it was 1/4" from the top. With the plane lifted into the air on a chain fall I spun each wheel by hand and applied the brake... success!
The Parking Brake Cable installation I have left until later.
