Brief Description:  Instrument Panel

I worked on the instrument panel today. It was much easier this time since I had a panel layout I liked to use as a template. I clecoed the old panel to the new one and traced out the instrument holes. Then I measured out the new circuit breaker and switch lines. I then moved on to cutting out the hole for the G-Meter. This lined up very close to the old panel but not exactly. Once that was finished I match drilled the holes for the glove box rivets and the latch hole for the glove box. I also match drilled the warning light holes. Then it was time to drill all the CB and switch holes. It actually all went fairly quickly this time. I then used the Dremel to cut out the instrument holes for the EIS, EFIS, Mini-X and glove box. That went well. When I test fit the instruments to the holes I had to do just a little bit of filing since the holes were just barely under sized. It was pretty minor though. I then deburred everything, set the instruments in place and match drilled the mounting holes. Then I drilled the holes for the nut plates. I then disassembled everything and primed the back of the instrument panel. Finally, I riveted on the nut plates and then the glove box. Everything came out great.
