Brief Description: Riveting Platenuts for Inspection Covers and Fitti
Today I riveted all the platenuts on that will accept the screws that will hold on the inspetion covers.
Then I moved on to fitting the wingtips. First I sanded the edges of the left wing tip to make it even all the way around. Then I trimmed the trailing edge to make room for the aileron on aileron hinge bracket. I got lucky here. I thought I was trimming way short of where I needed to be and it ended up being pretty much perfect.
After I trimmed the trailing edge I taped magnets to the inside of the tip to hold it on while I match drilled the holes through the skin. That worked really well. The tip still flexed a little bit but the magnets held it in place and I was able to drill all the holes.
