Brief Description: Trying to fix the landing gear hole
Monday morning and I started off on reparing the 7/16" hole that magically turned into 5/8".
The thought was to have the hole welded closed and then redrill it.
I placed a phone call into Aero Structural Services at Hobby Airport and they said they were pretty sure they could handle it. On the drive there, I called Vans just to double check the idea.
They didn't like the idea of welding the mount, becase it has been heat treated. So that plan died right there. The recommendation was to put a plate on top of the hole with the correctly sized hole.
I spent an hour tonight trying to create a plate out of stainless, but that was hopeless. Tomorrow I'll get started on another plan.
