I have been having issues with the flap motor which is controlled through the VP-X. I had all the correct indications on the G3X and the VP-X configurator on my laptop, however no flap movement. I checked all the wiring, connections and settings to no Avail. BDH kindly lent me his VP-X and voila everything worked perfectly using Des's VP-X. My VP-X has a fault and does not supply power to the flap motor via pins. J12-5 & 6. After an e-mail to Astronics in the USA, I was advised I need a new " board " and updated firmware. So, my VP-X is now on it's way to Kirkland, WA. USA for a holiday and update, bugger! Nothing that US$600 won't fix, hope to have it back before Christmas. Spent time shortening the ELT antenna cable and installing a new BNC connector to the shortened cable.
