BDH noticed my air filter was not seated in the air box correctly. I had not pushed the filter far enough into the box and the end of the air filter was not sealed in the box. I removed the air filter and box and gave the filter a much firmer push and the filter slipped into the box and the end is now sealed. I imagine that hot air around the engine and cowling would be able to enter the box, therefore, effecting engine power. Richard, our painter, had painted the air box red, which looks great. BDH, thank you, the extra set of eyes makes a huge difference.
