Brief Description: Sanding, edging, and Deburring rudder substructure
After a bout with some sinus issues I was able to get back to the shop this evening. I have to warn builders who are just starting their kits. Its really easy to get into edge distance problems with the R710 and the R716 attach strips. I had to order another R710 replacement part so I recommend being very careful in trimming this part. I set out to get all the substructure edged, deburred, and dimpled according to the rivet type. I modified a C-clamp to accomodate the dimple set and countersunk a piece of flat strap with my countersink tool and simply clamped them together. As you can see it made a perfect dimple. I finished dimpling and deburring the skin and dimpled the holes where the front spar and the lower and upper ribs attach. Used scotchbrite on all the parts and got everything ready for primer.
