-Made a good dent in the trimming. I got it down to the point where the cowl actually fits. Then I went to the paperclip method - see pics. That is allowing me to trim the baffling for the 3/8 clearance required all around between cowl and baffling.
I did lots of this....my set of tin snips got a workout.
Paper clips compress when the cowl is on and let me determine clearance
