Brief Description: Remote compass (Dynon) and panel painting
-I started working on the dynon harness I purchased from a fellow on VAF -I decided to locate the dynon remote compass on the aft deck, others have not had issues having it there. The elevator horn may cause issues, but I can move it fwd if it's an issue. -Had to remove the vertical stab to get to the deck. I also had to move the aft position light wire as it would have been too close to the compass. That was a pain to get it out of the conduit - long story. -Also put an adel clamp on the ELT antenna. -Measured the compass for square and marked the holes, drilled and deburred them. -I then routed the shielded cable for the compass back from the instrument panel to the aft deck.
I then switched gears and experimented with painting my instrument panel. I primed it with 7220 and then put Rustoleum black primer on to see how it looked - we'll see. I like it so far.
Mary helped me today - here we are removing the vertical stab to get to the aft deck
