Happy Father's Day! More empennage fairing work. -I finished taping the #6 screw holes into the lower longeron -Riveted the nutplate into the horizontal and vertical stabilizers for the #8 upper (fiberglass) fairing attachment - some of these weren't easy with the empennage assembled! -Trimmed the lower metal fairing to allow the gasket to go on. I'm not happy with the transition at the nose of the horizontal stab between the upper glass fairing and the lower metal one. I am seriously considering doing away with the lower metal one and making a fiberglass one-piece out of the whole thing - we'll see. The whole idea (per the plans) seems like a good way to lose a couple of knots to drag.
