Tried my hand at the modeling clay method for creating the upper intersection fairings. I used a play-dou brand my wife picked up for me. I added alittle water (definately helpful) and started sticking it on. I had previously taped everything off to aid cleanup efforts. It was really easy to work with. I like this technique far better than the expanding foam stuff. Not sure how good they will turn out, but so far I'm happy with how they look with only :30 minutes of messy effort. The wing fits very close to this fairing so I marked the area where the wing goes and put the clay around it - thus it extends up the fuselage further on the fwd side vs the aft side of the fairing. Next step will be to lay the clear mylar tape on the clay and layup the fiberglass on top.
I justed used my hand to shape it-no special tools.
