With the empennage fairing came some decisions to be made regarding the canopy skirt and how far back it goes. Also how I plan to remove it when needed plays into the equation as well. I decided to stop my canopy 3" forward of the aft cockpit bulkhead to make room for the interior open handle and avoid hitting the empennage fairing with my canopy skirt. I drilled a bolt hole in the RH canopy rail and installed a #8 screw and nut to act as a stop.
I then moved to creating a reference grid for fabrication of the gear intersection fairings.
Canopy stop - the bolt below does the work keeping the roller from going aft.
As far back as I can go without modifying the fairing or skirt or both.
