Another popular RV-8 modification is to create an access panel for the rear mounted battery. Up late this morning so I didn't get much time, but I managed to layout the size and location for the access panel and cut it out of the baggage compartment shelf. I'm happy so far!
Opening layed out and the corners drilled prior to using the dremel.
The cutoff wheel works great and won't require much finishing if you are careful.
Just a little edge finishing and it's on to the door and associated hinges, etc.
