Brief Description:  Landing Gear #3

Well after a little over an hour more I am satisfied that my gear is well aligned. The diagram explains it best. The right gear (left side of the chart) shows that both plumb bobs on the right gear ended up 3/32" further from centerline than the left, but that is probably due to my centerline and maybe the gear bends themselfs and the amount of torque on the one 7/16" bolt that's holding things down. The important dimension is the deviation from square between all 4 ref lines and the tail measurements.

So then I broke out my little 3/8" drill and started drillng the outboard bracket holes - wrong! After what seemed like :15, the drill was smokin', my arms aching, and no progress! I ok, I give up, I shouldn't have attempted it with average drill bits and a miniscular 3/8" drill. Off to my trusted HarborFreight (not misspelled) to pick up a good chinesse copy of the $170.00 dewalt gear 550rpm 10 am 1/2" monster drill for $33.00!!!! I know, they suck, but I'm not going to use a drill like this more than a couple of times and for $33.00 I have 4 more replacements I can buy!! Tomorrow, it will get a crack at the nasty gear attach holes!
