Brief Description:  Left fuel tank installation +

Ok I admit, I was full of trepidation as I woke up this morning to takle installing the left wing fuel tank. It's not that I expected it to be hard, there isn't even any riveting, it bolts and screws on. It's just the fear that something somewhere, somehow might have gotten screw'd up and left me with a perfectly leak proof tank that doesn't fit properly on its respective wing. Well the story turned out good, the installation was straight forward and no suprises! As per the plans, I installed every other screw and 2 bolts in each Z bracket. It actually fits better than I remember from when I was mocking it up - good news indeed!
Having successfully conquered my left fue tank, I moved to the top inboard wing skin and wing walk doubler. My friend, Mike C.tipped me off on the nut pllates for the fuselage-to-wing-fairing. Van doesn't have you mess wiith them at this stage, but if you don' t you can't deburr or removed metal chips from between the skin, doubler, and rib - thanks Mike! I accomplished drilling for the nutplates and removed the skin and doubler and deburred everything and cleco'd the skins back on in anticipation of riveting.
