Brief Description: Left wing leading edge riveting
Cleco'd the left wing leading edge together and started riveting. I just realized this is the first "skin" rivets since I started the wings back in Jan! Felt good to be putting things together. No drill outs so I'm pretty happy. The first two ribs installed, I had a bump develop at the leading edge from the rib below. Generally, the shape of all the parts is so good from the factory that you don't expect to have to modify or grind off parts, but after researching the issue on VansAirForce.net, I should have taken the time to mode the nose ribs to avoid bumps. I worked them down with a spoon and light application of the rivet gun (with the flush set in of course). I'll make sure I don't have this issue on the right wing leading edge.
Cleco'ing everything the LH leading edge together in the cradle.
I love riveting with the gun. Notice the big clamp holding the work stable.
