Brief Description:  Fuel Tanks Continued

I match-drilled the stiffners that go in the bottom of both fuel tanks.

Next I fabricated the forward fuel tank attach brackets (one for each wing). It is made out of aluminum angle that comes in the kit. 2 x 2.5. The plans give you a half scale representation of the protruding side and then tells you to copy the curve of the nose of the rib it mounts to for the anchored side (anchored to the rib). I drew up a template on cardbard and used it to draw the outline on the metal. I then rough cut the shape with my bandsaw (worked awesome with the stock wood cutting blade (craftsmen). I final shaped it with the 3M wheel on my grinder. Same thing for the perpendicular side and then repeat for the right tank. I will skip the plans and not drill out the attach holes for this until I have my flop tube hardware so I can be sure to have room for everything. As of now I plan to put a flop tube just in the right tank.
