We went to Florida on Christmas day to spend the holidays and my friend and fellow Captain Medford Bragg, had invited me to come visit him at Spruce Creek if I ever found myself down there. Well, we were going to be staying an hour away so I got the opportunity to get down there and visit both Monday and Tuesday. Medford was a gracious host and showed me around and introduced me to all his friends, especially RV-8 guys since that's what I'm building. I got my first chance to set in one - too cool and kind of crazy since I am working so hard on something I haven't flown and never even sat in! Then Tues we went up in Medford's Harmon Rocket II as left wing in a flight of 3. Lead was Mike Kelly in the beautiful RV-8 'Diamond Di' and John Fleurent in his gorgeous -8. The flight was later intercepted by two RV-8s painted identical, they are two of the four ship formation RV-8 team called the Mavericks! It was a most excellent two days and I can't thank the guys down there enough for their hosptiality and encouragement!
