After readingt the horror stories regarding the baffling mounted oil coolers I decided to double up on the doublers, add reinforcement angles everywhere. The idea being the oil cooler and baffling will be able to withstand a thermonuclear onslaught.... Riveted the doublers on (all 3) Fab'd reinforcement angles for the oil cooler mounting tabs. I'm probably moving the stress to another place that will develope a crack... I'm actually enjoying this in a psuedo-machochistic (sp?) sort of way!
Extra doublers riveted on along with the nutplates
Alum angle to reinforce the mounting tabs and spread the load
In place. I will relieve the upper rt corner of the cooler for the eng mount plus add another angle.
