-Started on what should be a simple task of figuring out where are the oil line fittings on the back of the accessory case and the modified oil sump. After studying pictures of my engine installed previously on Dan Unger's Pitts S1S and the various Lycoming, Raven and Christiansen drawings. The oil cooler ended up being easy - stock installation. The inverted oil was little different, but after about an hour of head scratching I had it all laid out and committed to paper.
Next was the prop governor install. That proved confusing as the detailed instructions from Vans was alittle out dated and devoid of clues as to how to orient the supplied bracket. Plus the bracket holes were slightly out of alignment. Then the bolt holding the cable onto the governor won't fit without loosing up the actuator arm and sliding back on the spline just enough to stab the bolt. I got everything bolted up and safetied. Still need to put it on the engine - that's the easy part!
Lycoming governor drive and MT governor
48" prop cable hooked up per the plans.
Here it is safetied and torque locked. Hopefully I won't have to dissamble it for any reason, but....
