Brief Description:  Intercom Troubleshooting

Continued to troubleshoot the bad rear seat mic this morning and I found where I had soldered a wire into the mic plug connector and left the nose of the wire going through the solder hole in the connector too long and it contacted the barrel and grounded out the mic - that's the good news. The bad news is when I went to check everthing I let the intercom case get against a hot wire and now the intercom is whisper quiet and does respond to knobs - rats! I emailed tech support at Flight Comm and they responded back within an hour on what to look for if this damaged anything - I have to open the case and check 3 grounds on the circuit board for burns.
Also, I tech support at Stein told me how to wire the intercom to the 300XL and the AFS and the way I had it wired was wrong. So I'll make those changes too.
Hopefully my intercom isn't smoked, but we'll see.
