Brief Description: First engine start and initial taxi tests
Completed first engine start and initial taxi tests as follows:
1. Started Rotax for the first time without the cowling, ensuring that oil pressure and temps responded appropriately. Shut down after approximately 2 minutes. Noted Dynon RPM was half of "steam gauge" RPM.
2. Checked for leaks and found none. Reconfigured Dynon tachometer settings.
3. Started engine again. RPM on Dynon OK. Ran engine for several minutes with no problems noted.
4. Shut down, checked for leaks, and ran engine again.
5. Shut down, checked for leaks, and installed cowling and prop spinner.
6. Started engine and checked brakes. After several brake tests, taxied out to runway at WV22 and tested brake steering and straight-ahead stops. All tested OK.
