Brief Description:  Installed cowling fasteners and assembled spinner

Completed installation of colwling fasteners and assembly of spinner as follows:

1. Installed Southco receptacles along firewall flange per Rans manuals.

2. Installed nutplates on forward part of bottom cowling.

3. Installed Southco receptacles on remainder of bottom cowling.

4. Enlarged holes to receive Southco studs to .250" Remaining assembly waiting on replacement Southco rubber washers.

5. Printed two copies spinner cutout template on card stock. Cut out template.

6. Marked 90 deg "X" on workbench. Marked each leg of "X" at 5.75" from center.

7. Centered spinner on "X" and marked centerlines of cutout. Taped templates in place, marked cutout, and removed template.

8. Cutout openings with dremel cutter and smoothed with small dremel sanding drum and larger drill-mounted sanding drum. Filed straight edges smooth.

9. Temporarily assembled prop, place backplate on spacer, then prop on top of all that. Checked fit of spinner.

10. Marked edges of spinner openings on backplate. Removed spinner and backplate from prop, then clamped together using cleco clamps.

11. Drilled spinner to backplate progressively, starting at #40 and ending at #11 drill bits.

12. Drilled and mounted #10 nutplates to backing plate. Used countersunk standard rivets to retain nutplates instead of the pop rivets.

13. Temporarily assembled to prop. All clearances good except that trailing edge opening needs a small amount of trimming.

14. Disassembled spnner and prop. Mounted prop hub, spacer, and backplate to Rotax gearbox prop flange. Torqued bolts to 240 inch/pounds.
