I spent a little time calibrating the fuel system. I'm starting out with using no ethanol, 91 octane from one of the equipment rental place in town. I started out with only 10 gal (two 5 gal containers), but after starting through the sequence I realized I was supposed to completely fill the tank. So I left the plane on the charger and the Dynon in the middle of the fill sequence. It didn’t time out by the time I got back with the next 10 gallons. I measured out 2 gal in my spare 5 gal container, and then I just kept using that container to transfer 2 gal at a time. The procedure asks you to click the add button after each 2 gal are added. This works until you get to 16 gal…the tank gage shows full and when you add 2 more to take it to 18 it doesn’t change the mV and you get a notification from Dynon to accept or discard. Well after reading several comments from Vansairforce.net, I chose to accept. My understanding is that the float is all the way to the top even though the tank isn’t full. So I continued to take it to 20 gal and pressed full. That’s done. Also today I got my carpets in from Flight line. I asked Abby for SLSA version that you see in the factory planes. I like that carpet better than the full spread. It looks a little more rugged and less weight. I provided a template for the baggage floor, which worked out great. I really like the look of the interior now, along with the arm rest that match the seats. Abby did an excellent job.
