While the Van's Aircraft kits are very well made and much of the hard work of bending, shearing and layout is done for you, there are still things that have to be made the "old fashioned way." The kit includes several pieces of aluminum angle, which are used to fabricate various components that aren't pre-made by Vans. It's not so tough to make them, but the kit only contains enough material for one attempt (without ordering more materials). Not a problem, though, since they came out well.
