Brief Description: Disconnect prior to engine removal
We are not sure that the primary ignition is running rough because the magnet on the flywheel is reversed. Worst of all, I WAS THE ONE THAT REVERSED IT! I did it during the engine build. I thought I was following the instructions for determining if the magnet was correctly installed. I thought I had found that it was not. So I reversed it.
To reverse the magnet now I need to separate the ending block from the Sonex backing plate. I only need about 6" of separation.
So tonight I'm disconnecting all the wires, hoses, and air intakes.
I also took the opportunity to drain the oil, since I never really got a good set of marks on the dipstick for LOW and FULL oil. Once the oil was drained I put in the 2 qts Sonex calls for, and marked the dipstick as that LOW point. Then I put in the last .75 qts and marked that point as the FULL level.
All in all I spent about 2 hours.
Intake & other things disconnected.
