Brief Description:  Placed heat shield on cow, installed oil hoses

Sanded the entire inside of the Bottom Cowl. Cut the remaining 2 pieces of heat shield material from a new roll I got from Van's. Attached the 2 pieces (both on the left side) and sealed the edges with epoxy. Also applied epoxy to the entire inside surface of the Cowl Bottom. The discussions in theVAF.net forum say it is a good idea to do this to make it seasier to clean the cowl from oil drips. Connected the VA-214, VA-213 and VA-215 hoses to the Oil Cooler and the Oil Tank per the plans. The instructions are not clear on where to route the oil lines under the engine (especially the VA-213) and did trial and error placement which took some time because of the narrow space between the engine and engine mount. Will wait for the epoxy on the Cowl Bottom to cure before checking the fit of the Oil Cooler to the cowl.

Riveted the remaining 2 MS21071L06 nutplates at the bottom of the Center Panel. I used CCR 26455-3-3/32 pop rivets which was approved by Van's. Filed the edges of the nutplates because they are projecting into the openings and rubbing against the AP-Knob modules when inserted. It's going to be a challenge to install the wiring for the AP Knob modules. When I asked Van's, they said the harness for the AP Knobs was not designed to work with the conversion harness and they have no plans, alternative harness, or procedure to modify the AP Knob harness to work with the conversion harness. They suggested that I contact builders who have done this work on their own.
