Brief Description:  Pneumatic carb sync, fixed low fuel pressure

46-11: I've been noticing low fuel pressure with just the electric fuel pump (Facet) ON, averaging 1.3 to 1.6 PSI. The pressure goes into the yellow range and sometimes in the low green with the engine running. I did a search in the Rotax-Owner and VAF network forums and reviewed the many comments and possible causes. One of the comments referenced Section 46 (Engine Installation) and to make sure the pilot jet is removed from the Banjo Bolt M8X1X17 that attaches to the clamp block above the engine. I don't remember if I did this step. Disassembled the Banjo Bolt and the pilot jet was still in it. Removed the pilot jet and re-installed the Banjo Bolt and torqued to 90 in-lbs. Turned the Master Switch ON and the fuel pressure went into the Green (Normal) with just the electric fuel pump ON.

MM 12-7 to 12-14, PAP G6-1: Redid mechanical synchronization of the carbs followed by pneumatic synchronization using the CarbMate. I decided to synchronize the carbs at 2500 RPM. Set the idle speed around 1650 RPM per the Maintenance Manual. It is actually hard to keep a low idle because the throttle spring pulls the throttle control forward. After synchronization disconnected the CarbMate and re-installed the compensating tube to the hose elbow of the right carburetor.

Started the engine again and opened the throttle up to 5100 RPM. The engine is generating adequate power. I did not attempt to push the throttle all the way in. Shut down the engine and put new tie wraps (Tefzel) aroung the fuel lines and compensating tube.Removed the bottom cowl and checked for leaks and did not find any. During the engine run today the Hobbs reading started at 2.5 and ended at 3.3 hours.

Drained the fuel from the tank. Removed the gascolator bowl to check for debris. I had to remove the bolt securing the oil vent line to the gascolator and disconnected the radiator hose from the nose gear leg so I could cut the safety wires connecting the screws. The gascolator bowl and screen were clean. Applied DC-4 on the "O" ring, re-installed t
